Spanx and Spaghetti (#32)

July 17, 2012 By: Heather

A good friend recently asked me if I have themes planned out for this 40 to 40 blog series.  The answer is no.  Sure, I get ideas for future posts and write them down.  But when I decided to do this series – one of the things that was really important to me was to write in the moment. To capture 40 days of things that were on my mind.  Planning them out was going to feel too much like work.

So, you ask…what’s on my mind today?  Spanx and Spaghetti.  Why?  Because, I really can’t have one without the other.  You know what I’m saying?  The dealio is this.  As you know, from previous posts, I like food.  And as you also know, I’m not particularly adept at working out.  I do my thing here or there – but I’m not very good at consistency when it comes to elevating my heart rate.

Herein lies the problem.

I like food, more than working out.  Duh.

Enter in SPANX – the best invention since the chocolate chip cookie.  Wait.  Was this invented because of the chocolate chip cookie?  Anyhoo, I digress.  I want to hug Sara Blakely – the creator of Spanx.  Every day.  Because of her, I can reign in my belly.  The one that likes the food, more than the working out.  She’s a rock star in my book.  Oh.  And by the way – this year she became the youngest woman on the Forbes Billionaires list.  I might actually bow to her, if I met her in person.  If my Spanx let me actually bend, that is.

So what does Spaghetti have to do with my post?  Absolutely nothing.  I just wanted a food that started with an ‘sp’ for the title.  I thought that would have a better ring to it than, ‘Spanx and Chocolate Chip Cookies’.

So there you have it.  Spanx and Spaghetti (or chocolate chip cookies).

Who’s hungry?
